What is eCO2 3D
eCO2 3D is an ablative fractional CO2 laser for skin resurfacing: it creates micro-columns of ablation that remove damaged tissue and trigger collagen remodelling. It is the evolution of the Lutronic eCO2, with up to 40 W of power, 3D Controlled Chaos Technology, three interchangeable tips and Static and Dynamic modes. It covers very different treatments: from a light Precision Peel with minimal downtime to deep resurfacing of acne scars, surgical scars and wrinkles.
THE TECHNOLOGY
How the eCO2 3D fractional CO2 laser works
The beam is narrow and tapered: it drives energy deep and limits lateral heat spread. The micro-columns of ablation are surrounded by healthy skin, which speeds up healing and triggers new collagen production.
3D Controlled Chaos Technology
Microbeams are fired in a pseudo-random order, each as far as possible from the previous one. Heat does not build up, the untreated skin between beams stays protected, and discomfort, redness and recovery time are reduced.
Three interchangeable tips
The 120 µm tip works in the deep dermis with fast healing, the 300 µm tip in the mid-dermis and the 500 µm tip on the epidermis for superficial dyschromia. The system recognises each tip automatically, with no recalibration.
Static mode
Precise stamping over scanned areas up to 18×18 mm, with selectable density. This is the mode for targeted, deep resurfacing: scars, tightening and wrinkle reduction.
Dynamic mode
Energy is delivered in motion to blend treated and untreated areas and avoid a grid pattern. Full-face tone and texture treatments become faster and gentler, with treatment time nearly halved.

What is the difference between eCO2 and eCO2 3D?
eCO2 3D is the evolution of eCO2: it reaches 40 W of power, a third more, and introduces 3D Controlled Chaos Technology and Dynamic mode. The result is deeper, cleaner ablation zones with less heat build-up in the skin.
How long is recovery?
It depends on intensity. After a light Precision Peel there is mild redness for 6–48 hours. After deep resurfacing redness can last a week or more, and most patients return to normal activities in about 5 days.
Is the treatment painful?
Sensitivity varies from patient to patient. The physician usually applies a numbing cream before treatment, and 3D Controlled Chaos Technology limits heat build-up and therefore discomfort.
Are there consumable costs?
No. eCO2 3D uses no consumables: the tips are interchangeable and carry no per-treatment cost.
